If I remember correctly, this was Dirt Devil's only rear bagged machine. Saw one at the thrift store the other day, but it was in terrible shape. she hated it, but I did love the fact that it reminded me of a Kirby. wonder if you could mix a red and black bag and body and call it the "Black Widow?" I knew a kid when I was in high school whose mom had our red Broom Vac. I looked all over the internet to find a picture of the package of bags that I posted when I couldn't find one of the actual machine on the other thread. she had a tri level so there was one on each floor, the stick broom for the kitchen and the hand vac for all of those steps.I am so glad that you posted a picture of this. Mothers friend had a MVP, Ultra MVP, and the very first Dirt Devil Vision, the hand vac and the stick broom. My mothers friend had a nephew who worked for Dirt Devil when they were still made in the USA, he would always send family new dirt devils frequently. she used it at home for 3 or 4 years and then took it to her flower shop where it was used and abused until late 2004, the switch was bad and had a toggle switch bolted on it as a replacement, handle release was broken, bag door was taped together, hood slightly warped, hose taped in several spots/ Its death came because of being in 2 feet of water from a flood. I have never really been a fan of Dirt Devil,īut I remember when my aunt got a Dirt Devil Deluxe sometime in 1993, If I recall correctly they were new or fairly new on the market. Now, if anyone ever sees a Cruiser on Ebay, (the more modern, but still rare power drive chrome and blue model), please let me know! I guess they are in a way when the are plugged in :o) Didn't Dirt Devil also make one like the soft bagged one on the right side called the Lite, that didn't come with attachments? I remember many some of those came in hunter green or blue or maroon as well. and I wanted them to be alive like the vacuum on Brave Little Toaster. I always pictured living in a big mansion and using those to clean it up. We got one with ours, and I wanted all the Royals so bad, I just couldn't stand it. I think I have the little paper that came with those that has the 90's line up on one side and the Royal line up on the other. Looks like almost a complete collection there minus the can vacs and triangle stick vac. On the second one, the wheels came off (then it started burning belts), the attachment clips came off, and the hose/floor lever snapped off, poor thing! She pulled her glasses down, looked over them, and said in a high pitched tone, "Well what do you expect with a name like dirt 'devil'?" I'll never forget that! That was our second one, the first one stopped turning on within a month so we exchanged it (first one had a red switch, second one had a gray one). after using the Dirt Devil for so long, that Eureka Bravo felt like a top notch machine! I remember we used it to clean the church and the as I was doing the sanctuary, the snooty minister's wife walked in just as the back wheel flew off. she was offended, but I asked for vacuum every year and never got one because they didn't want to encourage me! It was between our Singer System and our maroon soft bagged Eureka Bravo. The uncle that raised me gave it to my aunt for Christmas one year (rednecks). We had the second one in from the left when I was growing up. I always pass on them because I'm not crazy about hard bodied vacs (save the s/p w/t), and they always have broken handle releases, and broken, taped up bag doors and handles. The Ultra MVP is missing the Edge Wedge! I do see the regular MVP from time to time in thrift stores. I too have noticed it's almost impossible to find one on Ebay, especially a Broom Vac, though they seem to be more common than the others. Out of those the, the Broom Vac is my favorite. I also like them and wish Dirt Devil still made machines like that.

I'll checkout stockcarsteel.thanks for the link. I'd also like to see someone do a tech piece on welding chrome-moly here on the HAMB sometime. Apparently "Jorgenson" supplies a lot of the DOM in Dallas, but they have like a $350 minimum order.īluebrian.I can almost guarantee you if that if you go to any of the major steel suppliers in Dallas and say "7/8 tap tube".they are going to give you a blank stare in return. I haven't tried to buy anything from Trident yet.I'll have to keep them in mind. I'm almost sure it would still be more to order and buy from them than to buy 7/8" DOM through one of the stock car outfits that sells online. Garland was the second place I went, so I wanted to check around before I ordered it and had to wait for it to come in. They say they can order most DOM, but it's not something they normally stock.although they did have some drop in 1" and some other sizes. 4130 is harder to work, should be TIG welded, will be somewhat birttle at welds without normalizing.Schedule 40 black iron is for sprinkler systems, NOT suspension parts.Ĭlick to expand.I bought some other DOM and stainless tubing from Garland Steel today for some bike projects I've got in the shop.I like them so far. The Precursors' stewardship for all life involved the belief that all experience of biological organisms enriched the greater, universal whole, something they experienced firsthand through the constantly changing nature of their own existence. According to the philosophical aspect of neural physics, the universe itself is a living entity, though vastly different in nature and scale from organic beings. The Precursors based their existence around the philosophical concepts of the Mantle, Living Time, and a meta-technological mechanism known as neural physics, which enabled them to manipulate the fabric of the universe. They lived through different stages of technological and cultural development countless times, being at times hyper-advanced and spacefaring and at others living primitively and remaining confined to their worlds. The Precursors were not tied to any particular physical form, assuming any shape as they saw fit they would allow themselves to die away and be evolved anew over and over again, taking on numerous incarnations both physical and immaterial. As transsentient beings, they existed on a level beyond that of conventionally sapient biological organisms they were described as "dreamers and makers whose minds transcended many realms and having infinite forms, many voices, and singular purpose". They were an incredibly advanced race of beings who explored many galaxies and seeded them with life over the course of many billions of years as part of a grand experiment. The Precursors originated outside the Milky Way and arrived in the galaxy billions of years ago. It is past all our understanding, from the greatest to the smallest." - Forthencho's imprinted essence to the Librarian " The Gravemind no more understands the whole truth than we do. While the Primordial relished in suffering, others celebrated joy. There was corruption, but purity, division and unity, inclusion and exclusion and all Precursors were not the same. The facts were very different from what the Forerunners had ultimately chosen to believe.Īccording to the Librarian, the concept of one-mind unity as seen in the Flood is not an aspect inherent to the Precursor race as a whole. The majority of this information was mythology with a dubious historical basis, providing a set of explanations for the innumerable mysteries surrounding the Precursors. By the time of the human-Forerunner wars, ancient humans also claimed to be the sole inheritors of the Mantle, something contemporary Forerunners considered heretical. The Forerunners believed the Precursors had shaped the Forerunners in their own image, and some even suggested that they may have done the same with humans. According to Forerunner belief, the Precursors had peacefully passed away after they fulfilled their mission in creating the Forerunners. From a Forerunner perspective, the passing of the Mantle secured the Precursors' legacy in the form of the Forerunners, continuing their work after they departed, much in the same way humanity was appointed to be the Forerunners' inheritors shortly before the activation of the Halo Array. Their most central belief was that the Mantle (the role of guardianship of the galaxy and of all life) was bestowed upon them by the Precursors. The Forerunners knew few concrete details about the Precursors, and most of their supposed knowledge came from the mythology they had constructed around their creators. Political CareerĪfter Sulla’s death, Caesar began his career in politics as a prosecuting advocate. Caesar likely returned to Rome after Sulla’s death circa 79 BCE (another account states Caesar, with the help of his influential friends, eventually convinced Sulla to be allowed to return).īack in Rome, Caesar and Cornelia had a daughter, Julia Caesaris, in 76 BCE. The young Roman refused and escaped by serving in the military, first in the province of Asia and then in Cilicia. Sulla ordered Caesar to divorce his wife or risk losing his property. Caesar’s marriage to Cornelia drew the ire of the Roman dictator Sulla, as Cornelia’s father was Sulla’s political rival. In 84 BCE, Caesar married Cornelia, the daughter of a nobleman. Around the time of his father’s death, Caesar made a concerted effort to establish key alliances with the country’s nobility, with whom he was well-connected. He remained close to his mother, Aurelia. When he was 16, his father, an important regional governor in Asia also named Gaius Julius Caesar, died. Little is known of Caesar’s early years, but during his youth an element of instability dominated the Roman Republic, which had discredited its nobility and seemed unable to handle its considerable size and influence. SPOUSE: Cornelia (84–69 BCE), Pompeia (67–62 BCE), Calpurnia (59–44 BCE)īorn Gaius Julius Caesar on July 12, 100 BCE, Caesar hailed from Roman aristocrats, though his family was far from rich. After several alliances and military victories, he became dictator of the Roman Empire, a rule that lasted for just one year before his death in 44 BCE. By age 31, Caesar had fought in several wars and become involved in Roman politics. Allegedly a descendant of Trojan prince Aeneas, Caesar’s birth marked the beginning of a new chapter in Roman history. Julius Caesar was a leader of ancient Rome who significantly transformed what became known as the Roman Empire by greatly expanding its geographic reach and establishing its imperial system. If you’ve played the likes of FTL: Faster Than Light, Out There: Ω The Alliance's approach to resource and ship management will be familiar. There over 350 different story variations, and with four endings to unlock, there’s an impressive amount of replay value on offer. Doing so good release a ton of Fe (the element used to repair your hull) or it might cause a catastrophic chain reaction that cripples half your ship. You might choose to mine a passing meteor. So, do we continue walking in search of resources and perform a quiet genocide, or do we utter a few rushed apologies and take off with a guilty look and a lack of much-needed fuel? Considering every decision you make severely impacts you rest of your adventure, these binary choices will likely test your sense of resolve. There are no signs of life around, that is until he looks down and realises it’s not grass he’s walking on, but miniature aliens who don’t seem particularly happy they’re new visitor has likely killed millions of their kind with a landing and a few wistful steps. On one of our runs, we land on a rocky planet and learn our astronaut is having a gentle walk on a grassy field. It’s these small pieces of world building that make each run feel unique to itself. Many of these narrative developments are relayed by a series of text boxes, and while they might be lacking any real animation or voiceover, the strength of their creativity adds to the game’s sense of unknown rather than subtracting from it. You might happen on a random cloud of helium gas and find your fuel tank completely refilled, but you might also encounter hostile alien life and be left for dead. And it’s in that unknown aspect that Out There: Ω The Alliance finds one of its most attractive qualities. You never really know what lies beyond the next folding of space, only that it’ll burn a set amount of fuel and use up a certain amount of oxygen. Or, more often than not, you’ll simply run out of fuel or oxygen, your ship now a makeshift tomb. Maybe you’ll run into a meteor strike and be pummelled to dust. Perhaps you’ll perish when you try and gather resources from a star, your hull torn to ribbons by the sheer heat of its radioactive embrace. You’ll almost certainly lead your lonely astronaut to his death many times over. What you’re left with is an ambient experience that blends resource management, the exploration of randomly-generated portions of space, narrative choices and a roguelike sense of temporal risk. You’re given a brief tour of your ship, but it’s not long before you’re left to explore and eventually make your way home. A short tutorial later and you’ve salvaged some technology from an abandoned alien space platform and, rather conveniently, acquired the ability to fold space and travel huge distances between systems. You’re a pilot who was meant to be travelling from Earth to Ganymede, but when you awake from cryo-sleep you discover your ship floating through an entirely unknown corner of the galaxy. Out There: Ω The Alliance is a game that does an incredibly effective job of depicting the desperation, wonder and moment-to-moment danger of travelling through the cosmos. It’s impossible to play Out There: Ω The Alliance and not think of Mass Effect 2's mining escapism, but while the soundtrack may be similar, there’s very little opportunity to relax amid this set of vibrant stars. There are plenty of reasons Mass Effect 2 is considered the pinnacle of Bioware’s grand space-faring saga, but who knew a mining mini-game would remain one of its most enduring qualities? For all the suicide missions and inter-species 'sexy time', it was the sedate pastime of visiting new planets and surveying each one for resources that kept so many of us coming back for more. Some shoppers on social media have been crying “hell no”, and one crisp fan has even aptly asked “Is someone taking the p**s?”.Ī post shared by UKNewestFoods the news of the new crisps dropped on all the usual food-spotting blogs and Instagram pages, such as and UK’s Latest Bargains, reactions to the Christmas Pudding flavour in particular started coming in thick and fast. The Pigs in Blankets, and Festive Turkey varieties seem to have suitably satisfied crisp connoisseurs, but the same definitely can’t be said for the Christmas Pudding flavour, as many are already turning their noses up at it, and a few are questioning what Walkers is playing at by even considering the flavour in the first place. Three new festive flavours of Walkers’ original crisps have been launched ready for Christmas this year, and, in true middle aisle style, you can currently get your hands on multipacks of them for £1.65 on ‘Specialbuys’ offer from your nearest Aldi.
